Education

Education for the small woodland owner is an important part of SWOAM's mission. The objectives of SWOAM’s educational offerings are to impart knowledge to landowners and others who are interested in familiarizing themselves with good forestry practices, and thereby to facilitate the work of landowners in concert with licensed foresters, professional loggers and other forestry professionals.

SWOAM chapters, members and staff present courses on small woodlot management subjects that are free and open to the public. SWOAM members receive a monthly newsletter with informative articles on current issues. View our current list of courses and educational opportunities.

This site includes many resources which are available to assist you in managing your woodland. These include private as well as public resources. If you are not already a member, we urge you to become a member of SWOAM. Through our monthly newsletter, nine regional chapters, workshops and meetings held throughout the year, a SWOAM membership will help you become better informed about small woodland owner issues.
