Woodland Roads
Roads should be considered as a long term investment. They can provide access for ongoing recreation as well as recurrent logging. Roads tend to remain even as land usage changes. For example, some of the roads on the Whitney land trust which are currently used for forestry were originally developed for agriculture. A good location and periodic maintenance help to assure long term usefulness.
