SWOAM Land Trust

Goal of SWOAM Land Trust

To encourage and facilitate the continued use of Maine forest land for optimal productivity and natural resource protection through recognized best forest management practices.

History of SWOAM Land Trust

SWOAM established a land trust program in 1990 with the primary goal of protecting productive forestland and encouraging multiple use management. SWOAM's land trust committee includes knowledgeable woodland owners, foresters, and legal professionals with land trust experience who can help you realize your land protection goals. Since its establishment, the SWOAM Land Trust has grown to include eleven properties (1,159 acres) and four conservation easements (1,980 acres). Today, the SWOAM Land Trust is helping to protect 1836 acres of working forestland in Maine.
